On 27 July, the M4 BPS Lean Production System launch meeting was successfully held at the Inno-Chip Smart Manufacturing Park. Senior executives in attendance included Gao Guihua, Vice President of the Group; Zhang Weishuo, Deputy General Manager of M4; and Guo Haihong, Chief Expert at the Quality Management Centre and Senior Director of Quality at M4. The meeting clarified the project’s core objectives, scope of implementation and overall implementation plan, providing a clear roadmap for lean production and for enhancing quality and efficiency.
The project will be rolled out in an orderly manner across three core areas: the establishment of the factory’s lean system, quality improvement through 6S standardisation, and the optimisation and upgrading of the production floor, with a focus on enhancing operational capabilities and improving the quality and efficiency of management. As the primary entry point for this lean initiative, standardised 6S management serves as the cornerstone for strengthening on-site management, minimising production waste and upholding safety standards. It is also a key prerequisite for meeting client audit requirements and ensuring standardised, sustainable operations across the plant, thereby laying a solid foundation for subsequent comprehensive lean improvement efforts.
In her address, Ms Guo emphasised that management must engage deeply with frontline operations and tackle issues head-on, putting an end to superficial management practices and the shirking or delaying of responsibilities. She called on all staff to break down departmental barriers and work collaboratively, aligning with clients’ high standards and treating standardised 6S management as a fundamental project for the plant’s stable operations, thereby strengthening the foundations of on-site management.
Mr Zhang, for his part, elaborated on the strategic significance of this BPS lean initiative and called on supervisors at all levels to take the lead in tackling challenges. He urged all staff to actively cooperate with expert guidance and participate proactively in on-site improvements, thereby translating top-level strategic directives into practical, hands-on execution by the entire workforce.
Mr Gao highly commended the value of this lean initiative and expressed the Group’s commitment to M4’s development. He called on the team to unite and advance the lean initiative to the highest standards, striving to establish M4 as a benchmark for lean management within the Group. At the same time, he encouraged all staff with the words, ‘As long as we start, we are making progress’, urging them to break free from fixed mindsets, persist with continuous improvement, and use lean transformation to drive the high-quality development of the plant.
This kick-off meeting marks the beginning of a new phase in M4’s upgrade towards lean and standardised operations. Moving forward, M4 will align closely with the Group’s strategy, using 6S management as a starting point to comprehensively implement the BPS lean management system. All staff will unite their efforts, work diligently and strive for excellence, continuously optimising management, improving quality and reducing costs, whilst dedicating themselves to building a benchmark lean management site that empowers and fuels the enterprise’s high-quality development.
